Born to British parents in Egypt, Artemis Argo was raised surrounded by the wonders of antiquity and the ruins of ancient, primitive civilizations. His schools were the ruins of the primeval rainforests and the stark plains of Africa. His exposure to harsh, unforgiving environments began developing his Herculean endurance and strength from an early age.

After losing his father to the dangers of a jungle expedition and his mother to the terrible symptoms of an undiagnosed tropical disease, Argo determined to follow in their footsteps and honour their memory by becoming a man of action, exploration and knowledge.

John Jakes, an elderly archeologist and friend of the Argo family, recognized the potential in the young Artemis and sponsored him into the Century Club at an early age. Together they led the Allied Front to victory in the race against the forces of the Kaiser to unlock the primordial secrets of the Sagua ancients.

Professor Argo is a tall, larger than life figure with sandy blonde hair and a handle bar moustache. On expedition he is never without his trademark 'lucky' pith helmet. Always well dressed in safari friendly outfits, he can be boisterous and occassionally overbearing. Despite this, he is a valiant member of the Club and would gladly walk through the flames for any one of his chums.
